1. Obituary, 27 Apr 1933, Lawrence County Mississippi. Lawrence Co. Press dated 27 April 1933 She died Sunday afternoon before 27th April (April 23rd). Died suddenly of a heart attack. Married for 40 yrs. Funeral held in Steen home to accomodate her elderly mother.
Survivors: 4 children, P.L. Steen of Vicksburg; Dee Steen and James Steen of Monticello; and Ethel Dillon of Lexie. Sister, Mrs. D.S. Walker; brothers, W.H. Jones of Hazlehurst; Archie Jones of Georgetown; Pearl Jones and Virgil Jones of Hollandale, H.H. Jones and L.H. Jones of Monticello.

2. Cause of Death. What a living family member (very elderly niece of India's) told me is that India had been over to visit her brother, Houston, who lived near by and had walked back home. She then went inside to change shoes so that she could help her son, Jim, feed the chickens. When she didn't return back outside, Jim went into see about her. She had died sitting on the side of the bed, while putting on her shoes.
