Census: Fourteenth Census of the United States Population Schedule, 1920, Quitman, Clarke County, Mississippi. 1920 Federal Census lists Alonzo Schrimshire (age 55) with wife Laura (age 53) and the following children Hubert (age 23) Odell (age 21) Lydia (age 19) and James (age 12). Family lore has it that James was not thier natural son, but the child of a relative born out of wedlock. Laura and Alonzo raised James Schrimpshire.

C. married Laura O. ALLDAY, daughter of Samuel Thomas (Si) ALLDAY and Geraldine (Jeraldine) HEADRICK, on 4 Apr 1898 in Clarke, Mississippi, USA. (Laura O. ALLDAY was born on 11 Sep 1876.)
